WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?
Good question. Late April in Los Angeles can be fairly varied. The average high near the ocean is 69 degrees, but on any given day you might see high 80s or low 50s. It's unlikely it will rain, but it might. It will certainly be cold at night, and you should not let beach weather during the day deceive you from layering for a chilly evening (roll your eyes at your own risk, New Englanders.) The venue on Saturday night is partially outdoors, but is covered and has a robust amount of gas heaters. Eventually, however, you will find you have left the venue, and at that point the heaters cannot help you.
IS THE INN OF THE SEVENTH RAY AN INN?
No.
CAN I BRING A DATE TO THE WEDDING?
No. Sadly, we are not able to accommodate any additional guests. We promise to be especially mindful of this if you are traveling alone. Thank you in advance for respecting our limitations.
CAN I BRING MY KIDS TO THE WEDDING?
No. Unfortunately space at the venue is really, truly, honestly very limited and we simply cannot accommodate anyone who is not on the guest list, regardless of age or how chubby their little cheeks may be. We appreciate your understanding. (You are, of course, welcome to bring them with you to any other informal gatherings throughout the weekend.)
WHAT'S THE WEDDING DRESS CODE?
Semi-formal attire (cocktail dresses; suits with jackets & ties).
HOW ARE WE ENSURING A SAFE PLACE FOR CELEBRATING?
Both the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors, regardless of weather.
Out of love for our friends and family, many of whom are at high-risk, we are requiring that all guests must be fully vaccinated. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns and please stay home if you are feeling sick or if you have been exposed to anyone with Covid-19.
IS THERE PARKING AT THE VENUE?
Valet parking is available at the Inn of the Seventh Ray for $8 plus tip; cash & credit cards accepted.
HOW SHOULD WE PLAN ON GETTING TO & FROM THE WEDDING VENUE?
Since guests aren't staying at one central hotel, we aren't offering transportation TO the wedding venue on Saturday, however we will have shuttles to the after party back in Santa Monica following the reception. We recommend you take an Uber/Lyft to the venue on Saturday, and suggest scheduling your ride ahead of time, to ensure you're not late.
The Inn of The Seventh Ray is an approximately 30-minute drive from Downtown Santa Monica, but it's always a good idea to keep an eye on traffic and give yourself more time than you think you'll need (especially if it happens to be a nice beach day!) As mentioned above, we recommend you take an Uber/Lyft to the ceremony on Saturday, but valet parking is available for those who prefer to drive.
When the reception ends at 9PM, we'll have sprinter vans waiting to take guests back down the canyon in shifts to the after-party location in Santa Monica. (See below for more info on that.)
Those who won't be joining us for the after party can easily order an Uber/Lyft from The Inn, though you may have to wait a few minutes for your driver to make it up the canyon.
You can schedule your ride ahead of time with Lyft.
WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THE AFTER-PARTY?
Once the wedding reception concludes at 9PM, we invite all our guests to join us continuing the celebration at SHOREbar, just off the PCH on the border of Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades, 15 minutes from the wedding venue. We will have shuttle buses waiting to take those who wish to join us from the reception to SHOREbar.
Everyone 21+ is welcome at the after-party. No RSVP is required, so feel free to make a game-time decision if you'd like to join, and to stay for as little or as long as you'd like.
Expect a typical Saturday night lounge/beach club atmosphere with a DJ at SHOREbar. We will have a few tables reserved for us, and the venue is prepared to accommodate as many guests as we might bring, however we probably can't guarantee seating will be available for all guests at all times.
Please also keep in mind that that this is an indoor venue, and is likely to get fairly crowded, especially as the evening goes on. We completely understand some people may not feel comfortable being in that sort of environment, and want to stress you should feel absolutely no obligation to attend. (Or it may just not sound like your cup of tea! No worries!)
WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH SUNDAY'S FAREWELL BRUNCH?
We will be at the beach for three hours with coffee & donuts for those who want to say goodbye. Kids are welcome to join! Please bring your own beach towel/chair if you plan to sit and dress warm, as it may be on the colder side.
IS THERE A HASHTAG FOR THE WEDDING WEEKEND?
There sure is and it's #GabeSaysYesToTheTess so please use it if you post photos!
